The athlete from Upper Austria, who rides for Burgenland, received her personal international record score of 76.825 percent with Söhnlein Brilliant MJ and won before the US duo Ashley Holzer and P.J. Rizvi, who celebrated their European debut.

“We are on a roll,“ said a smiling Belinda Weinbauer contently, referring to the improving performance and shape of Söhnlein Brilliant MJ. Horse owner Marianne Jerich has been trusting the Austrian athlete since mid-2016.

72 days before the opening of the European Championships in Gothenburg (21 to 27 August), the performance of the mighty 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding has been improving rapidly. 76.825 percent is the international record score of the duo in the Freestyle; when winning the State Champion title 2016 at Schindlhof in Fritzens, Tyrol, they even received 77.675.

“Söhnlein is in very good condition; now he’ll get a few days off. We will make varied training sessions so that he will remain as motivated as he is now for the European Championships,“ explained the 41-year-old top rider.

The entire Austrian team showed great ambitions for the European Championships at the four-star tournament in Achleiten. 4th place with a difficult freestyle was taken by Astrid Neumayer with her well-experienced DSP Rodriguez. “Our season has been very successful so far, Rodi is very motivated here in Achleiten. The tournament in Cappeln is about the qualification for the European Championships and we hope that we will be part of the Austrian EC team again,“ said the athlete from Upper Austria.

5th place with 73.0 percent was taken by the ladies of the house, Victoria Max-Theurer and Della Cavalleria OLD, “Della was significantly better today than yesterday, the three big mistakes in the flying changes unfortunately took us too many points. During the warm-up, I had the impression we were back on the right track. I feel confident for the next tournaments at Schindlhof and in Cappeln.“
